Well, the main difference is that after completing the MBA courses, Birmingham students go into employment and Loughborough students go into internships. Either way, you have to find the job/internship. The disadvantage of the internship is that it's less well paid; which is also the advantage - if you are insecure about your post-MBA value you can take a position at a lower than average page, or unpaid, and call it an internship.

Birmingham is certainly more promising: better students attract better employers.

There is no internship at Loughborough, you won't be able to find one I'm afraid.

What I mean is that you won't be able to get any internship, its a fake marketing. The university doesn't help, and the recruiters don't recruit international students for one year jobs.

If you insist to do MBA with placement in the U.K just look for universities that have their own established and guaranteed placements for the students.

Loughborough MBA students as far as I know got their placements from some personal relations with one staff who was helping through her personal contact with some companies.

In the normal basis you won't find anything but a waste of time and money.

I find it hard to believe that a triple-accredited business school would advertise something that doesn't exist.

I think it's important to say that no school outside India can guarantee you an internship, no more than they can find you a job. What Loughborough's course can only be understood is that the two year option for people who are able to find an internship, and that it makes resources available to help. My guess is that at any European school some MBAs but not all are able to find internships. As a buyer, you need to have at least a minimum of diligence: ask them how what percentage of people with your background were able to find one.

I work for the School of Business and Economics at Loughborough University and just wanted to clarify that the MBA with internship is not at all fake advertising. Of our 2014/15 cohort only one of the students failed to get a placement by October 2014. The reasons for this failure were complex and not for an open forum such as this.

Although it is your own responsibility to find your internship, you will be given help and guidance in sourcing one, especially from our specialised Work-Based Learning Director through workshops and skills sessions throughout the year.
