Why not study in the UAE?

than what could be my options and also which course among the top two discussed would be better in landing a good job in UAE, plus what are your thoughts about Northampton university MBA

If you want to become an academic, then you should study for a PhD.

There are lots of good jobs in the UAE, and few of them require an MBA. If you do want an MBA, then it would be very bad investment to take an MBA without international accreditation, like Coventry or Northampton.

It would also be misleading, when selecting between schools in the US, to use undergraduate rankings when looking for postgraduate MSc programmes in management. For that, the MSc rankings for MSc programmes in finance and management give a good idea of schools that are pretty good at most things.

But if you want to work in the UAE, surely the first places to start are the five business schools there with AACSB accreditation (https://www.aacsb.net/eweb/DynamicPage.aspx?Site=AACSB&WebKey=CADEF77A-6573-49BB-9BA2-CE21EC93841E) and the top international providers there like SPJain and Strathclyde.

thank you for your sharing this information one last thing if you could clarify is doing an Msc from a school like Bradford is good or not as i have heard even AAA accredited the school is not doing well and whether it holds good reputation by recruiters in marketing and brand management field/ consulting if not could you suggest some or any other business schools for this regard under the same fee bracket

Well, I think Bradford is fairly ranked as a school. Like most UK schools it faces a very competitive market. It's certainly not a top school for marketing or brand management, but it's great value for money. I don't think you can get a much better marketing MSc in the UK for the money. If you want to work in marketing the UK, I'd suggest you look at Aston, Cranfield, Lancaster, Leeds...

I would consider consider the Norwich programme in branding, and the University of Edinburgh has an interesting MSc in marketing analysis.

Other things being equal, an MBA is obviously better. Study where you want to work.

No, that's why I said 'other things being equal'. Lancaster is one of Europe's top 50 business school. I struggle to see many circumstances where an MBA from Coventry would generally lead to better outcomes than an MSc from Lancaster with an employer who was familiar with these schools or asked someone who was. Maybe you can find such naive employers if you try, and certainly people with no familiarity will always say that an MBA from some no-name school is better than an MSc from one of the world's top 150 universities.

hi i am looking at schools to apply and Coventry MBA, or Northampton MBA i cannot decide among them Northampton says they have been accredited by AMBA this year so the program is getting recognized. My goal from getting this degree is to find a job in Pakistan or UAE i cannot study in Pakistan and would like to get education from UK also i am getting the hint from some recruiters that they prefer MBA over Msc so thats why i am looking into these Programs would you please suggest which option is best among these or any other university in which i could apply in the same price range

The Northampton MBA is not getting AMBA accreditation this year because AMBA requires three years work experience.

thanks duncan but the problem that i stated was that MBA is preferred in my country that's why i was stating about these universities also is Northampton going to be accredited in next year if you have any info do share with me and also would it be better to do MBA from either of these universities keeping my problem and goals in mind as stated in previous post do reply back with your thoughts

I'm afraid that we are going in circles. It's absolutely impossible for Northampton to be accredited by AMBA because AMBA requires three years work experience, and Northampton does not require it three years work experience. That's not insider information: anyone can see that from the web.

My recommendation is pretty clear. Go to an internationally accredited business school. If you won't have three year's work experience by September, then either take an extra year or take a Master of science degree. Wasting a year of your life on a freshers' MBA that's at the level of a final-year undergraduate course would be sad. If you're going to do that, at least do it somewhere beautiful, or where you could learn another language.

One option might be to look for schools with AACSB accreditation but without AMBA accreditation. Cardiff, maybe Liverpool? And look at non-AMBA members of AACSB outside the UK, like the schools in Turkey (Sabanci , Bilkent and Istanbul) too.

I guess the Northumbria MBA is the better choice. I would totally rule our Northampton.
