Are you in the IS programme or the Strategic Information Systems degree?

UAE is a world-leading school for data-mining so, if you have any interest in that, I suggest you take that elective and go to to somewhere like Aviva, IBM, BT, HBSC, Logica... somewhere like that for a year or two. Then get solid IT consulting experience for a couple of years, to develop more business skills, and do your MBA then.

UEA grads often do well at Warwick, Henley, Cranfield, LBS, Cambridge and Imperial.

If you mean consultancy starting by yourself (rather than joining a large consultancy), then forget further academic qualifications , get out there and work and invest your money earned on training as you develop: whether it is SAP, Oracle or similar. This will give you a start in lieu of your limited experience. Your knowledge of management is not what you need starting out unless you are considering an entrepreneurial development rather than services-based consultancy.

This is good advice. In the end though, there's no substitute for real work experience: if you want to end up at the head of your own IT consulting firm, you'll need to have been involved in some real-world projects. So here's what I'd suggest: go out, work for a couple years, get certified in SAP/Oracle, etc., and then revisit this question. At that point you'll have the real-world experience that you can leverage in an MBA program.

Yes I agree its better to start your business rather than stacking degrees.
