MSc Management 2010 - Cass vs Bath vs Lancaster vs Aston vs Bradford

Hi guys

I'm applying for MSc Management in 2010 and the following are the places I have applied to in order of my personal preference

1. Cass
2. Bath
3/4. Lancaster
3/4. Aston
5. Bradford
6. Leeds

I have offers from Bath and Leeds and just got rejected from Warwick for having too much experience apparently (1.5 years!). Still waiting for the others.

I'm still confused about my 2,3,4,5 choices.

If I get an offer from Cass, I would probably just jump at that and forget about the rest. But if that doesn't work, what would be the most optimum choice.

Could you check with university website which states if there is a conversion from MSC to MBA ....means that you would be directly considered as an MBA student if you are a student of MSc in that your university with a carry forward of your credits ...this might help you .

My preference would be cass > Lancaster > bath ( this is based on my research for MBA) .

Well, again the option will actually depend on what you want to do after MSc ( a job ? , study MBA in some specialization ? etc)

Thanks for the input Nair. Even I was checking for a conversion option, so far I am only aware of Strathclyde having that option & I wasn't too keen on studying inScotland.
Having said that, I am definitely looking to find a job after school & I have heard that there is a much better chance of finding a job if I was in the city (London). But I still don't want to lose good options like Lancaster only cuz it's not in the city. So you can see the dilema I'm in! How does Bath rate as a B-School? Any ideas? And Leeds & Aston

Hi,

Do you have 1.5 yrs work experience you say? You may struggle to convert to an MBA at either Aston or Lancaster - they've got an average of 7 years w.e. Perhaps stick with the MSc or work in-between - or just notch up some more w.e?

Perhaps stick with the MSc Management at Cass, it's a highly commended course, ranked 2nd in the UK and 15th in the world by The Financial Times Masters in Management ranking 2008...?

i have also applied for the same program and got a rejection from warwick..
can u suggest me lancaster v/s nottingham??

Hey. I think Lancaster is the best option. It's one of the best for MSc Management

thanks for your reply buddy but there is a lot in the air with regard to nottingham as a better option when it cums to lifestyle and crowd..

Hi, how is the Msc course in "Shipping, Trade & Finance" ?
I am looking for a career in ship finance.....

I have 3 years of experience in shipbuilding, 1 and a half years of experience in shipping and 3 years as an army officer (interpreter, English-Korean)
