Had MSc Management no worth why would premier B Schools of the world like LBS, IE, HEC, T-Bird start a program like this?!
If you decide to immediately come back after completing ur studies then I am afraid you might not get the true value out of your education since MSc Management is quite an unknown degree in India and non of the reputed Indian B Schools currently offer any thing like MSc.
If you decide to work a few yrs abroad (any country, not necessarily UK) after completing your studies then I think the Indian corporate world will find ur profile as interesting cz you will have post management experience in a foreign (developed) economy.
After completing your MSc the post you will hold will be 'Analyst'. This is the lowest post in the managerial tier. The name of the post may be different for different cos. but essentially the level will be the same.
It will take 2-3 yrs for you to get a promotion from the Analyst level. Most of the European Cos. puts a condition before promoting you i.e. 'get an MBA'. If the B School from where you will pass out provides an opportunity to convert MSc in MBA then you can take up a few more credit hrs and earn ur MBA; if not then ur Co. will sponser you for a 1 yr full/part time MBA from an Uni of its choice in any country. Most of the ppl take up the 2nd option since a break of 1 yr is what which comes in bonus!
It is for this reason you hear that many MSc ppl do MBA later.
After you gain ur MBA you will be promoted to a level known as 'Associate'. This is where most of the MBA grads having less than 3 yrs exp join directly from the campus. So you will be at their level but you have an advantage of 2/3 yrs more work ex in the same co. so chances of promotion is high.
Next position in line will be a post of mid-managerial level.
As an 'Analyst' you can expect to earn quite good! Though the salary depends upon the Co, your profile and your geographical location. But if you happen to work in Europe as per 2006-2007 stats, the min salary (as per Indian currency) can be 17-18lakhs p.a.; avg. 26-27lakhs and highest 40lakhs p.a.
(exchange rate: 1GBP = 80INR)
Kindly note regardless of whether you do MBA/MSc not all big salary paying Cos. will take you since u r an international student, quite a number of big cos. take international students and pay very highly but the competition is fierce in the UK like the rest of the developed world!
Hope this helps.
Thanks.
