I haven't given the GMAT and hence I chose these universities. I do understand that the universities mentioned above are not the top ones but from what I have read, Nottingham, Birmingham, and others are not bad either and Nottingham and Birmingham have been listed in the Economist rankings too.<br><br>Actually, I was looking to get into respectable B-school where GMAT was not a deal-breaker but at the same time not heavy on the pockets as well.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>Also, I am yet to hear from Durham and Edinburgh.<br>Leeds and Exeter have denied me an offer.</div>

Management consultancies recruit from the best schools, which use the GMAT. If you don't want to take the GMAT or a test like it (CAT, MAT, GRE) then you need a different goal.

If you've been dinged at Leeds and Durham I would not hold my breath for Durham or Edinburgh (which would both as you probably know be better options than the schools you've been accepted to.)<div><br></div><div>I agree, you should probably take the GMAT.&nbsp;</div>

I asked around the alumni of the Universities I have been accepted into and they all had struggled to get a job in the UK and had to return back. And those who got it, their pay was on the lower side. I have come to the conclusion that I need to take the GMAT if I want the salary jump.<div><br>But, in a really wild chance that I get into either Edinburgh or Durham, would you say that they have a better chance of providing me a job in UK with a decent salary (higher than the ones in the list above and lower than the those of the likes of Oxford, LBS or Cambridge)?</div>

Yes. You can use the FT ranking to compare the percentage employed.&nbsp;

You will see that Durham and Edinburgh have different outcomes, reflecting different students. Edinburgh has a more senior cohort, harder to place.&nbsp;

In comparison to the other top schools, it is harder for Edinburgh MBA graduates to be placed quickly into jobs. They are, on the way in, more senior than the Manchester and Durham students. However, they are often making bigger career transitions.&nbsp;
