Older but diversified - admissions questions

HI all,

I am 35, with 15 years of Israeli airforce experience as a pilot, during which I held command and management positions; just took my bar exam to become a lawyer after interning in a big Israeli law firm; my GMAT is 690, in flight academy I finished 2nd with honors and my LLB + BA (law and international affairs) grade is 85%.

I plan on applying for a UK full time MBA program (Oxford, Cambridge or LBS).

three questions for you MBA experts out there:
(a) chances of admission?
(b) chances of employment post graduation in the UK/US - Consultancy, general management or business development?
(c) though I plan to apply for a MBA, what are a "career changers" chances of recruitment post EMBA?

Hi,

Nobody is really an expert of MBA out here in this website...except a few ppl nobody cares to keep alive the forum culture over here...one should look at TSR and Pagalguy websites to know what MBA forums actually look like!

Coming to your questions:

1. You have a very good chance of admission considering your non-traditional career (not many combat forces ppl come to b schools) and good GMAT Score but you need to sit for interview and you really need to give smart answers..since you served Israeli airforce you will be asked questions related to international politics, hate crimes, controversies related to the Gaza strip and Al-aqsa and you will be judged on your ethnic/religious tolerances to determine if u r comfortable working in groups of varied race..dont try to fool the interviewer with made-up answer, believe me they are ver very smart and can find anyone who is lying! Oh, I forgot to add..write good essays but on your own...all business schools have universal plagiarism detecting software and believe me its very easy to spot even one stolen sentence in your essay!!!

2. You ask a very naive question here...well you r still not a b school student...are u?! you ask a very generic question here...you are talking about very broad disciplines here...once you get inside a b school you wont talk in such broad language anymore...you will narrow down your interest and talk keeping specific line of work in mind...there is a rewarding career out there but to discover that you need to be a student of any of the world's best 25-30 schools...dont speculate and listen to others now, just concentrate on your application process.

3. I really dont understand your last question so no comments.
