Hello,
I work for the School of Business and Economics at Loughborough University and just wanted to assure you that the MBA with internship is not subject to favouritism, nor a waste of money / time. Of our 2014/15 cohort (which was the first year we offered the internship) only one of the students failed to get a placement by October 2014. This was due to personal reasons too and not for an open forum such as this.
Although it is your own responsibility to find your internship, you will be given help and guidance in sourcing one, especially from our specialised Work-Based Learning Director through workshops and skills sessions throughout the year. More details about how the internship works can be found at
http://www.lboro.ac.uk/mba/programme/ways-to-study/.
Our students are also very satisfied with the standard of our course and you can hear from our actual students (who have actually studied our MBA) on our students profile page
http://www.lboro.ac.uk/mba/profiles/ I hope this helps a little, and good luck with whichever MBA path you do decide to take.
Thanks,
Jade Wong
