You can't predict the future. What is likely is that Strathclyde will be better than Lancaster in placing you into your first post-MBA role. That first goal is the big risk, and I would choose Strathclyde or a better schools over Lancaster.

If you are worried, take an extra year to get into a better school.

In the Economist ranking, I can find the information about Strathclyde, Lancaster and Nottingham. From this ranking, Nottingham is better than Lancaster even in terms of Employment rate after graduation and Post MBA salary, although Nottingham is not ranked in FT.

It's not better in every way, but Lancaster relied a lot on supporting students from outside the EU and, when the visa rules changed, it was not in a position to deliver the higher level of career supported needed to get strong placement. In that respect, Nottingham is better. Of course Nottingham also benefits from being in a large conurbation.

Hi I have also received an offer from Lancaster, Durham, Leeds. Could you suggest which is the best among the three?

Of these schools, only Lancaster and Durham are currently ranked in the FT, both in the bottom tier and with Lancaster showing (marginally) better salaries.

What are your career goals?

The FT suggest that there are far more Lancaster alumni working in consulting. Durham alumni seem to be more mixed, with many going into the IT and telecom sectors, along with retail and consumer products.

Interestingly, Durham seems to be better in terms of international mobility, so if you are an international student I would assume that this means you'd have better chances of transitioning to the UK. That's an assumption though, you'll want to talk to the career services departments of each school and also check LinkedIn to get a sense of where graduates actually are.

I am an international student with about 6 yrs of workex. I am in the financial services sector. I intend to land a job post completion of my mba. Although FT mba rankings is a good source to gather information I have my doubts on their ranking methodology.
I am particularly interested in Leeds,Also is it a bad idea to join leeds? Do you suggest leeds for international students with a background in Finance, as leeds is considered the financial hub(after london).
Lancaster as u have suggested is good for consulting and I dont intend to switch my field post completion of MBA.
Also as per highfliers.co.uk leeds is ranked 8 amog universities targeted by the largent number of employers in 2013-14. Does this hold any significance?

If you're considering Lancaster and Durham I don't know what Leeds would offer over those two.

The FT ranking methodology is fairly bullet-proof and relatively transparent. I don't know what there is to question about it.

Have you considered looking at the FT's masters in finance ranking? Strathclyde seems to get more people into employment, and with a higher salary.
