Just applied to LBS!

I have already applied to both Cambridge and Oxford.

However I am rethinking my application strategy. I don't know if it's such a good idea to only apply to these schools. I am thinking of also applying to LBS.

I am an entrepreneur and I intend to continue to hone my entrepreneurial skills throughout the MBA. But I also need to consider networking and it seems like most of the networking happens in London. I am not sure though, any advice?

Well, Oxford and Cambridge are well, Oxford and Cambridge, so your networks could be fairly well developed, even in London.

Plus, neither of these schools is really *that* far from London. Trains run all the time, and you could go for the afternoon, for events, networking, etc.

But rather than think about these technicalities, could you explore the networks you'd need to interact with? Are they really just in London? Certainly the Oxbridge schools would have great resources for an entrepreneur.

You can be an entrepreneur anywhere. London simply has more competition and higher costs. On the other hand, if you want to be a start up slave working for VC and PE, then London is great.

... so I'd say that would be an excellent choice, all other things considered.

From what you all are saying I suppose I don't have to worry too much about not applying to LBS. That tidbit about Cambridge being good for entrepreneurs does look promising, and I hope to hear back soon!

LBS is a great school for entrepreneurship. I did my LBS there and have founded, bought and sold several businesses because of what I learnt there. I am simply saying that you don't have to be in any one city to be an entrepreneur. LBS has resources which are unparalleled by other UK business schools, including a powerful angel fund, the most powerful alumni network and so on.

For LBS round 1 applicants, how long do we have to wait to hear back?

You haven't heard back? I think most R1 applicants have at least been invited to interview if successful. I'm aiming for R2.

Bristol lacks accreditation from any of the three main international organizations (AMBA, EQUIS, AACSB)
