Where in the world are you? Do you have a GMAT score or budget in mind?

Now I am in Houston working. I haven't taken the GMAT yet. hopefully I will do at the end of this year.

Since you posted in the US forum I'm assuming you're looking into US schools - but please correct me if I'm wrong. As for getting an MBA after a PhD - people do it all the time for various reasons, not the least of which is supplementing practical experience with business thinking.

Keep in mind that one-year MBA programs are not usually the norm in the States. You'll find that if you restrict yourself to one-year programs, you won't have many options. Adding to that, due to the time restrictions of the shorter programs, most students do not have the capacity to do concentrations unless they commit more time.

There are a few programs that you could start looking into. Check out Rutgers for one - they offer a flexible MBA that can be finished in as little as 12 months - and they offer a concentration in pharmaceutical management. Although, as I noted before, pursuing a concentration here will undoubtedly bump your time commitment up past one year.

If you expanded your options, the two-year program at Washington - St Lous/Olin could be interesting. Since they have a fantastic Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering (MBA/MS-BME) there might be a way to attach yourself to a faculty member and even try to squeeze in a biomed elective or two.

Other than that, maybe a more general one-year program? They have them at Boston University and USC Marshall.

Thank you Ezra and Duncan. I have been thinking in Cornell university. I know also that Hult has one year MBA program too... I know that one year program is not enough to get a concentration but I think that is better a more general or international program. after to get my PhD I don't want to be two more years studying lol..

Oh yeah, the Cornell accelerated program is a good option - you may be able to work in a healthcare slant to either the operations management or the technology concentrations.

And Johns Hopkins/Carey has a number of relevant offerings, but the MBA program is the shortest of them and that's two years.
