The links I give in my post there give you two strong tools: StartClass and LinkedIn. If they don't give you a clue then maybe you need more time to explore more options?

The real issue is that one of these schools is not clearly better than the other, but each one's strengths will cater to different kinds of students. CUNY is fairly strong for placements in financial services, but corporate finance is a different animal altogether.

What I would do is look at the particular firms/industries that you would be interested in working in - corporate finance roles can be found all over - and find out where (or even if) people in those firms did their MBAs.

What school would be better for me? Which is better in terms of international students placement?

Fordham is generically better, given its placements in the Businessweek rankings. What are your goals?

Here are few pointers you may want to think of.

1) Location: Zicklin is in Manhatten vs Fordham at Bronx. May affect if you don't wanna live in Bronx, or Manhattan or minimize your travel time etc.

2) Fees: I believe CUNY is a lot cheaper than Fordham, which means - given the unwillingness of companies to hire Internationals - you may want to invest as less as you can to maximize your ROI. I don't think there is a significant difference in terms of placement excluding Finance roles (I have reason to believe that Fordham have a big alumni presence in Finance roles in NYC over CUNY - but no data to support it).

3) Reputation: Usually Fordham was considered more reputed than CUNY. That may or may not into anything for an international student.
In terms of post MBA goals, I don't think either school is going to give you an edge. you would have to build your own network and apply. Expect lot of resistance from companies, and little to no help from school.

P.S - I did some research for Fordham vs CUNY for my sister who is currently enrolled in Fordham MSMI. We selected Fordham MSMI because it has STEM OPT even though CUNY was less than half the price of Fordham.

I think this person's targets, CPG and marketing, don't really make such a big difference but in IB, for example, I think it would. Certainly the cohort and experience will be better and more diverse at Fordham.

I don't know if that's such a big concern - the train from Fordham to midtown is like 25 minutes each way.

The Bronx? In August Forham's graduate business school occupied the former law school building in Manhattan's Lincoln Centre; My guess is that the MBA will use that location increasingly: the BBA in global business students are already there.

I'm interested to hear more about CUNY's financial problems. Is there a risk the school will close? I am targeting CUNY or Fordham for MBA and this note is a bit concerning!

Google news is your friend. CUNY is one of the world's biggest universities. Too big to close, but really poorly funded.

How much do you think this would affect the MBA? Wouldn't the business school be better funded than the rest of the organization, given the cost of MBA tuition and alumni endowments?

Certainly a business school can rise or fall independently of the university. But the Zicklin school doesn't charge more per year than other Baruch schools, and it has a modest endowment.

I think the MBA tends to be more costly than at least most? of the other programs at Baruch. It's around $37k for NY residents while the MPA at Marxe is around $24k for example. Non-NY students pay more for the MBA too: $56k vs. $41k.
