I actually work for Thunderbird and can give you some insight into the distance learning program. I do not believe that you should compare the distance program delivery, I would suggest that you look at what the schools give you access to. Thunderbird will give you access to over 38,000 alumni spread over 140+ countries. If international business is where you want to find yourself for your career, then Thunderbird is the obvious choice. I am biased, however I am also a fellow student looking to gain the best education and the best in alumni.

I have to say that as an MBA graduate i feel you lose a great deal of the learning experience and networking advantages by not being involved in class participation. Whilst i took a traditional full-time program I find it difficult to believe that a distance course could substitute for the interactive experience with both professors and students you get from a classroom based program.

Whilst a large diverse alumni network is important. I personally would not trade-off the learning experience. At the end of the day your success will be more down to your abilities than any alumni. And certainly it has been my experience that the personal network i built up during my MBA with my classmates and other students at the institution have been more valuable to me in business than the alumni. Simply because the connections made are so much stronger.

I realize that a part-time program is significantly differnt. But any way. That is my personal opinion and experience for what it is worth.
