European MBA - Global Management
Posted Mar 26, 2012 12:21
Hi,
I would like to pursue an MBA degree in Management or Global Management.
My main goal is to get more managerial skills to create/manage a group of sustainable business/companies, and I will be working in Asia.
Below is the list of schools I\'m considering to apply (with their accreditation):
ESMT European School of Management and Technology - AMBA
HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management - AACSB
SDA Bocconi School of Management - AACSB, EQUIS
WHU - Otto Beisheim Graduate School of Management - AACSB, EQUIS
INSEAD - AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA
Please comment or advice on whether or not these schools would have the right program. Or if anyone has any recommendation of other schools I haven\'t mentioned, please do.
Thank you in advance
Adelia H.

Hi,
SDA has also AMBA accreditation.
By the way, if you want to work in Asia, why are targeting EU schools?

Thank you for the correction.
I'm checking out EU schools because I'd like to get the experience of studying in Europe with more international classmates. Also, our company have some business with some European companies (they're mostly in Germany).
I received my bachelor degree from a university in the US, so I'm also looking for a new environment and experience. =)

You're on the right track - those are all really good schools.
I'd suggest that you explore an internationally-oriented concentration, if you're planning on working in Asia. I know INSEAD offers a global strategy focus, as does SDA Bocconi. WHU has partnerships with CEIBS and IIMB, so you could theoretically do a module in one of those places during your MBA. And ESMT has a global sustainable management specialization that's really interesting if that's your thing.

Thank you for the additional info =)
You might also want to look at ESCP Europe who is in Berlin, London, Paris, Madrid and Turin. Their EMBA takes place in all 5 countries to you get a real European outlook and not just from one country.

ESCP's EMBA program is pretty good - but I think it suits a different profile of students than the MBAs that the original poster was asking about (average work experience is about 10 years - vs. 3-6 years for the MBA programs.)
