For a career in luxury automotive, I would imagine that an MBA from a school like Monaco, INSEAD, or SDA Bocconi would help, but in the end your network is going to be the most important factor. An MBA probably wouldn't be a guaranteed route.

I am currently a student in ESSEC's MBA in International Luxury Brand Management program. The program covers all sectors of luxury - automotive, fashion and accessories, cosmetics and fragrance, wines and spirits, and watches and jewelry. It is very diverse and all-encompassing.

In terms of ROI, ESSEC has a phenomenal corporate and alumni network within the luxury space. Almost any luxury brand you could think of has some connection to the school, and throughout the year we are put in touch with many of these companies through seminars, conferences, cocktails, alumni conferences, etc. The corporate relations department is instrumental in helping students and graduates with careers and job offers.

But is there much specialized curriculum focused on automotive? And realistically, what kind of jobs could this applicant expect land in the automotive sector with an ESSEC MBA? Not being sarcastic, I'd just be really interested to know, as would this applicant, I'd imagine...

Thanks again for your questions. ESSEC does in fact offer specific courses on managing an automotive brand, as well as case studies and class discussions that touch upon this throughout the year. More than this, the school has contacts within the automotive industry (not to mention a network of alumni) and offers various opportunities to meet these contacts, which you can use in your job search post-graduation.
