New FT ranking of European Business Schools

- Big improvements (12 places up) at Catolica and Nova in Lisbon; HHL in Leipzig
- New entries at WHU, and several French schools (Kedge, Neoma, ESC Rennes, ESC Montpellier, Telecom and IUSEG)
- Audencia, Louvain, Maastricht, Solvay, Toulouse, Lancaster and Bradford slip 5/+ places

I thought that the Manchester program would be ranked high, given the fact that that its above cass, cranfield, imperial in the FT Global MBA Rankings. Here however Imperial ranks a high 16 whereas MBS is at 39 [although it rose from its previous year's 47th position]
Also is ESADE that good a school to be rated above IESE, INSEAD and IMD?

That ranking rewards full-service schools that are active in the MSc, MBA, EMBA and open and closed exec ed segments. ESADE does all five well, which is why it does better than other schools that do not. It and HEC are the only schools that are in the top ten for all five types of programme.
Manchester rose five places this year, but it can't do better unless the relaunch of its EMBA is successful.
