Hi, I did an MBA at RSM Erasmus, and despite of I did not meet nobody from other schools, I can assure that TiasNimbas is very well regarded in the Netherlands. Moreover, the school is investing strong in Germany where still is not very popular. To sum up, if you will consider to work in Holland or maybe in Germany you won't have any problems as there?s a strong and growing demand for qualified personnel in both countries. Unfortunately I believe TiasNimbas is not very known worldwide. Maybe someone else can confirm that.

If you are willing to work outside Holland, why don?t you try RSM Erasmus? I think it is best regarded outside Holland.

In conclusion, if you would consider working in Holland (we are talking about your first job after graduation) there?s no big difference between RSM and TiasNimbas, however, if you don?t want to work there, then maybe you should consider RSM Erasmus.

Well I actually come from a moderate background and found the scholarships that are being given by TiasNimbas attractive. Though I have a good educational background and GMAT of 700, am interested in some concrete financial support from the school. So was considering to meet up with the TiasNimbas representatives dayafter as they seem interested in my profile.

Also in the fees of $ 31000 they have quite a few scholarships of more than 10000 $.

How do you think that values against RSM?

Also though I would luv to work in Holland or surrounding areas too. Do these jobs have sufficient international exposure and growth beyond their countries of origin. in short what kind of placements are available after the Holland MBAs. Which kind of companies? Do the schools assist you enuf in the process? Are the salary packages satisfactory according to the std of living there? In short whats your satisfaction level after the RSM MBA today as compared to that before?

After graduation you will probably find different opportunities and many companies (especially big ones) are looking for diversity in their staff. I have many classmates working in international companies and in general they are very satisfied. Of course, some of them got better jobs than others. But that depend exclusively on necessities of companies when it comes to hiring and how well you do in interviews and tests. Generally speaking, I can tell you that the equation cost of life/earnings is a bit better in Germany than Holland but in all cases very good for mba graduates.

I can tell you that RSM helps to find job, and I think most universities do. However, and I think this is true for most schools, the best jobs are offered through contacts. That?s why a very important part of your studies is the network you can gain during your MBA.

Tias by far is the best I feel, prices are down to 29.000 euros and most international from what i hear, staff were so nice and passionate about there work and so open. The personal touch was the best and a nice class size, very personal. I was told they are recruiting heavy world wide and there are very healthy in finances for future investment, also it is a British degree and not dutch, its seen more valuable on the job market.

What exactly makes you feel that?

I personally don't agree - both TiasNimbas and RSM range among the best European business schools. I would always advise people to go for an MBA there.
Each one has certain advantages. For someone accepted to both, some factors will count such as the waiver of tution at Tias for students in the need (I don't know about RSM here), but then Tias is not as much a name outside Europe as RSM. TiasNimbas offers the possiblity to spend some time on their German campusses - etc.

Between RSM and TiasNimbas, no doubt, RSM is the best choice even if you have a schoolarship from TiasNimbas.

I have an offer to RSM and also an offer from TiasNimbas with a scholarship of ?10000 but still the difference in the tuition fee is huge and I was wondering if RSM is worth the difference. On what basis do you think RSM is so much better?

Overall prestige of RSM (in and outside Netherlands), better professors, higher calibre of students, better recruitments, better exchanges (schools) . I mean, in general (because Ive not been there) it´s worth to pay 10k or 20k more in order to obtain a more recognized MBA because this is an investment for all your life.

Maybe, the doubt would be (from mypoint of view) a schoolarship for full tuition + expenses, which is a good schoolarship, but 10k is not a significant amount.

You make it sound as if TiasNimbas was really second choice, Single Spain, thats maybe a bit exaggerated, no? Even if RSM is more of a brand internationally.
It also depends on where you intend to work afterwards - I think for Germany and NL Tias really can enhance your career also.

Don't get me wrong, I totally agree with you on the 10.000 euro question generally speaking - for a 10 000 euro difference one should never decide to go for a MBA or not.
Although this might be a "Western" perspective - I imagine that 10 000 euro can put quite some pressure on a student coming from India, if he is not from a wealthy family.
But still, it is always good to remind young students to relativise those costs which seem to be huge when you are young and not used to a good salary - but will pay back quickly if invested in a good MBA.

I was just wondering how you would evaluate the recruitment chances between TiasNimbas and RSM. RSM is ahead in the rankings and is more known outside NL, but ont he other side I people having done TiasNimbas tend to be enthousiastic about the program. I guess Dutch, Belgium, and German recruiters know the quality of the program, so my main question is how TiasNimbas is perceived by recruiters outside NL.

My opinion is that the chances to get a good job in the NL after the MBA should be very similar, specially for Dutch companies because they can perceive better the brand of TiasNimbas than for instance, a UK or US company. I am not so sure about German companies. I would say that maybe StGallen is a better option than TiasNimbas for the Grman market.
Outside the NL, take into consideration that some international companie may come on-campus to one school and maybe not to the other school. We talk about the types of GE, J&J, P&G, Novartis (for the industry), or international banks and consultancies that we all know about them. I would ask this question to both schools.
