Has somebody here gone through the experience and later regretted it? Given that online MBAs are not that highly regarded, is it often more valuable to simply get more work experience instead?

More work experience will rarely add as much value as an online MBA with meaningful accreditation. The MBA will expose you to more things you don't know.
