Full Time MBA with 12 Years of Work Experience

I am a mechanical engineer with experience in petroleum and renewable industry in both technical and consulting.Due to major focus on Tech part , i want to do a 12-18 months regular mba for better exposure and move to Either General Management (Project Management) or Consulting Roles.Due to higher experience, I am not sure which colleges would give me a admit .I got a GMAT score of 710.

I don't necessarily think that higher than average work experience is a dealbreaker. As long as you are at the stage in your career where an MBA would be worth it (in terms of your career arc.) In fact, older / more experienced candidates can add a lot to the diversity of an MBA class.

What are your goals more specifically? Where do you want to work? In the same industry where you already are? In the same area?

For the Energy industry, have you considered the top schools? (Texas schools like McCombs, Mays; Edinburgh, Aberdeen...)

Consulting is trick because the top firms tend to only recruit from a select group of MBA programs. I guess it would depend on what kind of consulting you want to do (plus *where* you want to work, as Duncan notes.)
