Masters In Management Course, UCD/ Bath/Cranfield/Strathcylde.

Hi Everybody,

I am planning to pursue the MSc Management course in sept 2021.It will be of great help if you could just advice me on this. I am from India and I have a work ex of 2 years. I have offers from University of Bath, University of Cranfield, Strathcylde business school and UCD smurfit for their MSc in Management course. I am highly confused so as to decide which is best to go for as upon the Internet research & different rankings(QS and FT) that I have seen all of them seem to be more or less equally good.
The most important consideration for me is the teaching at the university and the job opportunities that I can get after graduating because I do plan to get some work experience.
If anyone could please rate these colleges in preference, it will be very much helpful for me to come onto a conclusion and go for best within the options that I have.

You are not reading the rankings closely enough. Compare the percentage of MiM students employed, for example: 92% at UCD and 47% at Cranfield.

Teaching will be great at all these schools.

Thank you for getting back, yes I did read that in the FT rankings and the employment does state like you mentioned for the year 2020. The college site does say it otherwise though stating that they have a 80+ % employability and even the QS ranking is on the same lines.
And if we rule out Cranfield for that matter what do suggest about Bath?
Also is there an advantage with studying in UK in comparison to Ireland because the common notion goes that Ireland doesnt have much opportunity with Management related jobs. The UCD ranking as well as employability(92%) is for the course Masters in International Management and not the one that I am pursuing. Infact the Rankings of MIM aren't explicitly mentioned anywhere so should I consider it the same.

I don't see that 80 percent claim on the Cranfield MiM page https://www.cranfield.ac.uk/som/masters-courses/management I got quite get your common notion, but the employer data are real.

Okay, thank you for your reply. The employment data on FT and QS for UCD is for Masters in International Management, should I consider it the same for Masters in Management too? Also Keeping Cranfield aside due to the low employibility what preference will you suggest with UCD/Bath/Strathcylde?

The MIM are UCD is much better than then MSc in management: I don't think the outcomes can be the same at all. The MIM is the CEMS degree with higher admission standards and more quant training.

Okay like you said the Course for International Management and MSc management is different and I have received offer from UCD for MSc Management( rank for this degree isn't explicitly mentioned in FT and QS) So we can't consider it same. So then which is the college that is better among the ones that I have offer from ie Bath/ Strathcylde/UCD/Cranfield.

The UCD MIM students have a salary that is around 40% over the UK schools you have applied to, but the CEMS MIM requires a prior degree in business or economics so the students hit the ground running and get internships. The MSc in Management doesn't.

Bath rates very poorly for international mobility. Cranfield had a terrible year for employment. I would pick UCD over the UK schools simply because of the greater stability of the Euro.

Bath is on a busy university campus, so you have many other shared facilities, but not the same dedicated environment or housing only for business postgraduates.

The new Bath business building will be a big step forward, but just a glance at the Smurfitt campus tells me I would rather be there.
