I completed the MSc in Management from Lancaster in 2011. Since then I have been working in Hong Kong in an investment firm. Now I want to transition into consulting preferably at a top firm (Bain, McKinsey.)
I want to know if it is advisable to do an MBA now to make this jump. I am afraid that I would not get an admit, considering I already have an MSc.
If so, which schools should I look at? I don't know if I would go back to the UK. I do know that LBS is a good school, but I would rather stay in Hong Kong at HKUST or HKU.
One other thing is that my employer said he would sponsor a part time MBA but that I would have to commit to the firm for an additional two years after I graduate. That would be more time but less cost for me. At that point I am skeptical that I would be able to go into consulting.
Please advise me.
