US MBA and UK MBA difference

Hello,

Recently I have been reading the posts in this forum and have done some research about MBA program.

Background: 8 years of Engineer in Automotive industry in Sweden with 2 years of team leader role.

I have selected the following programs to consider:
1. Manchester Global MBA program
2. Manchester and Kelley Joint MBA program
3. Illinois iMBA program (Pending now due to need language test)

Currently I am applying for Manchester Global MBA program and consult a MBA student in Manchester and Kelley Joint MBA program. And she prefer Kelley MBA way of teaching more due to that the class is more focus on the actual business case studying and more interaction during the class with classmates and professors. And she feels it is more beneficial than Manchester course. Manchester course has a lot of reading books after the class and writing papers which requires massive of time and energy which is difficult for the full time employee with family.

What do you have any experience between US MBA and UK MBA in terms of way of education?

Personally, I have the family and reading a lot of book and writing papers for each course in Manchester MBA program is a big concern for me.

I don;t think there will be a big difference. Alliance MBS is a world-class, US-accredited business school. The difference will be in the students.

It would be cool to join this dual mba degree program.

I am concerned about Manchester course which requires a lot of reading and essay writing.

OK, the case studying in UK is normally not up-to-date.

Honestly, there is very little difference between new and old cases, other than cost. Okay... I can spend $5000 so my class can have brand new Harvard cases, or I can have lower fees, hire more TAs, put more time into giving better student feedback. Does it really matter, for most topics, if I use a ten year old case in a text book? I am teaching students general management tools with a lifetime's value, not giving them a survey on the recent business problems of the 50 companies that hire the most from Harvard and Ivey business schools.

Something else: as you get more senior you have to assemble arguments more, assess conflicting sources and demand more data. Scholarly skills help managers do better. Case studies are great for putting the spotlight one a few major issues, and of course students love them. However, case studies don't teach scholarship easily.
