Accreditation of California MBA programs - 1 yr

Hi there,

My son is looking to do an MBA program in California- 1 yr. Other then the top schools can anyone advise as to what program he might look at that is accredited and an MBA that recruiters and or employers would find desirable? We live in Canada, so don't know the lay of the land in California. Just don't want to choose an MBA program that might be considered useless in the eyes of an employer.

Every degree is accredited by someone. The best accreditation available will be AACSB. If you use the 'Browse' option on the menu of this website you can filter for well-accredited schools in California.

Most MBAs in the US are two years, and doing just a one-year program would generally put you at a disadvantage in terms of careers (because most two-year programs include an internship / better career support).

However, USC offers perhaps the best and most highly regarded one-year MBA in California.

Below that there's quite a big gap, and then maybe the program that Pepperdine offers. Some of the business schools at state schools (I think for example CSU Long Beach) might also offer one-year MBAs, but none of these would be as good as USC / Pepperdine.
