Hi all.

please help us to get any information in terms of those MBAs.

In My personal thought,

Bath : Famous for Business and economics, Reasonable course fee, But a bit lower reputation.

Lancaster : Famous for Business and economics, Reasonable course fee. But a bit lower reputation.

Durham : Good reputation, Reasonable course fee, But a bit short history in terms of MBA.

Imperial : Good reputation, High ranked, But living cost and tuition fee are expensive.

Try searching the board. There's lots of discussion about these programmes. Also use the LinkedIn method linked from my profile page to see where the alumni of these schools end up.

What are your goals?

For most candidates, Imperial is going to be the best choice based on ranking and career growth potential. However, a case could be made for one of the others, depending on where you want to work or in what industry you are aiming for.

Hi Duncan, I am a student from the EU. I have decided to go for the full time MBA at Durham. I have a question. I have got to understand that there is an 12 month and a 15 month program which has the same course content. Although the 15 month program helps students do a 3 month internship from September to December. Could you advise me which program should I join the 12 or 15 month?

That depends on your goal. Would any other one year programme prevent you from taking up an internship after 12 months? Durham does not find you an internship. I don't see the added value but it is harmless.

Hi Saviol, you may find the details from the Brochure (page 18-19). You may request to transfer to 12-month route if necessary, but I suggest that you contact their staff for more details.

I'd assume the added value would be that internships can often lead to full-time jobs:

Across the board, internships seem like a good way to land a job: 85 percent of companies who had MBA interns said that they offered full-time positions to these individuals.

You misunderstand me. In both the 12 and 15 month option you can find yourself an internship and start it after the first 12 months. What is the added value of the 15 month option?

Ah, I see, I was thinking that the 15 month option included the internship while the 12 month option did not.

Hi thanks guys, I think I will go for the 15 month option as i believe the business school would give some help to some extent to find internships so in this way I believe it will be easier for me to find an internship than for me to find it if I do a 12 months program. Do let me know if any one has different views. Also is it possible to start work after the 12 months program with out doing an internship at the company?

I don't see how there can possibly be any additional support in finding internships in the 15 month programme, or any less in the 12 month. If you want to find a internship then you have to find it, and not the school. They will help you either way, but don't be naive.

I agree with Duncan. Searching for a suitable internship within the program or outside is the responsibility of the student & the b schools only plays an advisory & support role which is identical in a 12 month or a 15 month program. Normally students entering on a student visa prefer the 15 month option because of increased duration of visa. However, again the onus of finding the internship is entirely the student's.
