Henley vs Aston

Hi,

Im planning to start an MBA in autumn. I am going to do the distance learning type as I have to travel a lot with work.

I have already been offered a place on Aston online MBA and am completing my app for Henley flexible executive MBA.

Which one would you choose? The cost is the same. I do also have an offer from Leicester but I know this is less respected even if it is significantly cheaper.

I npticed that on the Aston online MBA they only intake 25 per entry whereas according to FT listings, Henley intake near 2000! Does this mean my support will be worse? I note that Aston I will get one-on-one tuition and have a tutor for final project.

Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would suggest you choose whichever allows you more face to face time.

Of course the staffing is higher with 2000 students than with 25. I don't think the faculty support will be very different, but the resources are obviously better in a larger programme.

Just to be clear, you're looking at the Henley Flexible Executive MBA and the Aston Online MBA, correct?

The Henley program has more regular in-class time, if you can do the workshops every other month (I recommend that you do.) In the Aston program, you would just meet once per year, which is good if you don't have as much free time regularly.

The Aston program does have a project component too, which many participants use in their current job to prove that they've actually been learning things (and as leverage to get a pay boost.) Might be worth considering if you think you'd need some more practical experience.
