MBA is a common subject for all.There is no hard and fast rule that MBA is only for accountants.In fact MBA is strongly recommended for techies rather than fin people.MBA has become a platform for techies like you to shift different fields like banking,insurance etc..

I got two options for you.First one is stick with your current job and try to do part time MBA in Gulf.UK universities like Heriott-watt(no accreditations) has good presence in Gulf region.So you will get international brand name parallely.More over try to explore other universities of US and UK.

Second option is quit your present job and move to UK or US for an international full time MBA.Post a good GMAT and IELTS.Look for Top 50 univ of FT rankings.

It is good to know that MBA is also recommended for us.
To tell you the truth, i have already quited this job as with the working schedule over there it was impossible to have other part time activities.
Mainly i am interested in Europe so US is not an option for me.
As i have seen this Heriot watt offers also full time MBA in Scotland and has affordable cost.
My question now is, that if a business school has no accreditations and is not well ranked is not worth considering it at all and it is a waste of money?
Or it just means that you will not have the same options and opportunities that you would if you choose a prestigious one/
Mainly i am interested in UK( I see also the MBA as a path to work there after)

You could try Oxford (Said) or Cambridge (Judge) as a backup option.

By and large, it's much better to head to a school that has accreditation for recruitment opportunities. But that aside, the quality of the facility will be better at most accredited schools too.

I would consider non-accredited a waste of time.

I am also aware of this...(Refer post sent by Khader)....Some were totally biased towards Herriot and some were against it...

BTW since you have resigned you got plenty of options to explore....but my doubt is are you planning for Sep 2010 intake? If so then I believe you are too late to think about Cambridge etc....Interviews are already over.....

What about GMAT,IELTS etc ?

Well sure i am cheking for the sep 2010 intake.
As i have seen i can make the applications and get conditional offers since i will take the GMAT next month.
Now about IELTS i am not sure but some universitites accept the certificate of proficiency English from University of Cambridge so i may not need to take this.
So there must be also some other options in whole UK, it cannot be all applications closed..

You are correct but what about branding?Can you able to succeed in premier institutes by now.I think its getting late....I think brand name is closely related with MBA.

hello im new here,im currently pursuing my final year in BSC.physics and i want to do MBA in HR in UK.i dont have working experience and i havnt taken GMAT although i will be taking IELTS if necessary...which of the following universities will be my best option to pursue my higher studies?and please rate them orderly so i know how to set my priority..

they are all discussions based on work experiences..i have none...and i know people say its better to have work experience if i want to pursue an MBA but my family wont allow it...they want me to be done with masters and studies once and for all and then start working!id prefer the same and msc is not something im even considering and as far as i know and researched into the subject every uni that i posted has an accredited MBA.

The MBAs you mentions are not accredited. Take a look at http://www.find-mba.com/accreditations The only serious accreditation bodies are AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA. If you want to take a pre-experience masters in business, then take an accredited MSc at a prestigious, ranked school. Avoid these four-rate, unranked, unaccredited business schools.

for real?because i checked with my consultancy and they said they were all accredited by AMBA.and i already spoke to my family about a MSC they arent happy..besides an MBA has wider career options and MSC in HR is quite restricted to the HR field

and aberdeen stands 151 in world ranking:( and i really liked aberdeen..but now your saying it aint worth it?

Not every course at a great university is great. London Business School is nowhere in the world ranking, but it has a great MBA. There's no point taking a degree which is not accredited.

If you want to take a course to please your family, that's fine. But do point out that they will not be making the best investment. And please remember that it's your life.
