In my personal opinion the BU's focus on soft(er) skills will help you more for IT management roles. In IT management it is more likely you will need the curriculum of BU like "risk management", "innovative mindset" etc. Check out the modules for yourself and see.

They are both very good and respected programs though, and I am only talking about the academic aspect of the programs.

I am in the same dilemma. GIES or UMAss.....I am based out of CT.... am into IT and digital marketing domain (technical). Wish to study MBA to boost career growth. Any pointers would be helpful.. also is GIES ranked higher than UMASS??

The UMass Amherst program is highly regarded and well ranked in the FT. Salary stats look decent.

I would look closely at each program's curriculum and see which would suit you better. I don't think either would give you an 'edge' in digital marketing, but at least you could have a sense of which curriculum would have more relevant courses for you.

Could you please tell How flexible is this program, as in does it have to be completed within 2 yrs of full-time studies or it can be completed within 3 or 4 yrs depending on personal time.
What does i in iMBA ? Will the awarded degree state iMBA or simple MBA?

Can you give some ideas?
