I think this really depends on your goals and your educational needs.
- Cohort. WHU has a younger, more international cohort. The HHL cohort seems much more experienced.
- General vs specialized. The WHU degree seems focussed on general management, and seem to have less scope for doing deeply int one area. HHL has a clear choice: 3 of 7 of elective 'extensions' and access to exchange programmes and dual degree options. I took my MBA part-time, and really appreciated the chance to take a term full time at Dartmouth College, HHL's exchange school in the Ivy League.
- Corporate vs. entrepreneurial. HHL is famous for entrepreneurship; WHU has a stronger corporate reputation.

In terms of international reputation for these schools' MBA programs, WHU seems to have the edge, given that it's been ranked in the FT for the past two years. It currently has the best salary outcome of all the ranked Germany programs.

Thanks for your feedback. On another note, one of my friend studied MBA in an average school in Germany but she still got interview calls from reputed companies. Does it really matter where one completes an MBA in Germany? Just thinking if one should consider doing a cheaper MBA from FOM or online rather than spending 3 times more money

Someone from an unaccredited MBA in Germany probably won't get calls for MBA level roles from mainstream MBA recruiters.

If I understand you correctly, the exams for classes, if there are any, will focus on course content. They'll not consider each student's background.
